A crouching mother and child take centre stage in this linocut by an unknown artist. The background of the main figures, with the family home and sprawling plants, suggests a rural, natural setting.
The engraving is unfortunately unmarked; it was a gift to the Hopp Museum collection from Dr. Tibor Bodrogi, a renowned Hungarian ethnographer and an expert on Oceania and the Indonesian archipelago.
