The album containing Dezső Bozóky's travelphotos (second). Related item: A.4760.2. (album). Unknown photographer. Photograph purchased by Dezső Bozóky. The photograph was probably taken after 1896, but before the introduction of the protectorate (1905). By this time, the palace was uninhabited: grass has grown on the stairs that lead to the gate, and in the central, “imperial” pathway, but the guards in the pavilion at the gate are still Korean, not Japanese. Three Korean men can be seen near the gate; one, pushing his bicycle, is about to leave, another watches the photographer in action.
