This statue of Buddha wearing a monk's robe sits on a heavily damaged pedestal. Its sculptors depicted him in accordance to the iconographic tradition with his right hand in the gesture of touching the earth (bhumisparsha-mudra), with a rounded protuberance (ushnisa), and long earlobes reaching down to his shoulders. The hem of his dress is decorated with coloured glass inlay and her hairline is marked by a headband, the latter being one of the defining iconographic elements of the Mandalay style.
