One of the oldest Chinese centres of ceramic production is located near Lake Tai, in Jiangsu province. Europe started to show interest in Yixing ceramics relatively early. On the base, there is a four-character seal-script mark: 心義真記 (Xinyi Zhenji „Right conduct of the heart” „rare mark”).
