Painting on canvas with scenes from an Old Javanese epic. Made on the island of Bali, presumably in the village of Kamasan, the object follows the style of Javanese wayang depictions, showing the heroes meeting a divine personage and wandering in the forest accompanied by their servants (the panakawans). The images are separated by a colourful frame and a wavy, stylised root motif, a characteristic of the Kamasan style.
