This figure, which may represent a dancing figure, is a figure with a particular hand posture (perhaps nat - a god or demigod figure in Burmese religious practice, a remnant of pre-Buddhist spiritual beliefs still alive today. This assumption is reinforced by the foot in motion. Burmese sculpture often depicts a few pieces, and the present object is a pair of pieces under inventory number 58.189.
