Dezső Bozóky hand-coloured glass diapositive. Photograph taken by Dezső Bozóky. A street in Busan’s Korean district. Two women can be seen, whose different clothes indicate different social statuses. The woman walking towards the camera on the right is wearing a ramie skirt tied on her chest, and has a clean, tidy appearance. She wears white stockings and fine shoes with upturned toes, her vast hat both protects her against the sun and hides her face. The woman who is walking away on the left wears a skirt of rough linen, with its hem tucked underneath the waistband to make walking easier. She wears straw sandals on her bare feet, and nothing on her head. She has a carrying-frame slung over her shoulder. The woman on the right is followed by a monk. There is a shop at the end of the street, and several people in the street are watching the cameraman in action.
