Cotton on a blue and brown cotton ground woven with a patterned Malay boat textile, with a boat, human and mythological figures. Lampang is a port town, so the imprint of centuries of maritime trade is also evident in the small square ceremonial textile (tampan) on display, which was exchanged between family members and villagers during rites of passage.
