Bonang. The top has a five-pointed star chiselled around the bulge.

A percussion instrument made of bronze. It is usually set in a wooden frame, connected to several other bonangs and played with the help of beaters.
Gamelan music, still very popular today, is an inalienable part of Javanese and Balinese culture. The gamelan ensemble consists mainly of percussion instruments (metalophone and drums), bamboo flutes and a two-stringed violin called the rebab, sometimes accompanied by other so-called ornamental instruments and male and female singers.
