The main figure of the painting is the Green Tárá (Skr: Śyāmātārā) depicted as a sixteen-years-old young woman, in accordance with the rules of her iconography. The composition of the painting and the representation of figures correspond to the "Twenty-One Tárás", as published in 1810 in iconographic manual Rin-'byung. It can therefore be supposed that this painting was made in Mongolia after 1810.
