The album containing Dezső Bozóky's travelphotos (second). Related item: A.4760.2. (album). Unknown photographer. Photograph purchased by Dezső Bozóky. Dwellings typical of Korea’s central areas can be seen, with neat thatched roofs and well-attended vegetable gardens. Each building encloses a courtyard, upon which the living rooms and the wooden porch open. Since the houses had underfloor heating, no chimneys
can be seen on the roofs; the smoke was let out immediately above the foundation, at the points where the walls are sooty. On the left,
underneath the crown of the pine, a traditional pavilion can be seen. Also on the left, a newly built terrace of houses stands. Further off, a
section of the city wall can be seen, with one of the gates.
