In the foreground of the picture on the left side is an artfully carved cylindrical ivory object placed on a low wooden pedestal. On the right, the figure of a man sitting on the ground appears in the background while carving. Photographer Miklós Rév took photos in 1959 in North Vietnam, in the then Democratic Republic of Vietnam. They reported on their trip with journalist Imre Patkó in their book "Vietnam", published in 1960. (see F. 2025.39.10.)
