Warrior, one of the main characters in the Mahabharata. The child of Kunti and Surya the Sun God, half-brother of the Pandawas. He is an excellent archer, a brave soldier, but his parentage (raised as the son of a charioteer) makes him extremely easy to offend in his vanity. He fights on the side of the Kurawas, is a friend of Suyudana who gave Karna the kingdom of Awangga.

Wayang golek purwa puppet from Ernő Zboray's collection. The rod puppet was repainted at the end of the 1920s.
