The album containing Dezső Bozóky's travelphotos (second). Related item: A.4760.2. (album). Unknown photographer. Photograph purchased by Dezső Bozóky. An upper-class woman in winter wear. She wears a simple silk coat, and fur-lined wrist warmers (dosi), which are quite conspicuous. She has a winter hat (nambawi) on, with a pearl tassel falling on her forehead. It lends some mysteriousness to the image that instead of the usual small table, she rests her elbow on a screen with a dragon design. (The painting is a copy of Kano Tsunenobu’s work from the 16th or 17th century. Dragons usually appeared in the portraits of men, to win an advancement in their career.)
