Lion head protome frieze fragment

Fragment of a frieze portraying a recumbent lion from a Buddhist stupa. The left paw is visible next to the head, as is the protruding tongue. The lively Buddhist images frequently portrayed animals. Remains of paint are still visible on the sculpture.
