The sculpture was created for the exhibition "Tradition and Metamorphosis" at the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Asiatic Arts. The bust, carved from wood and painted turquoise, is adorned by leather and intertwining, arched metal applications. This work is related to the artist's concept of his series Prosthesis started in the 1980s, and is a direct reflection on the slave-clown characters of Javanese wayang plays, providing an individual response to such questions as how long and in what form our cultural traditions can be passed on.
