Blue-and-white porcelains, produced with great elaboration, enjoyed special popularity during the Kangxi and Yongzheng reigns. The decorative painting uses a wide range of cobalt blue, from the deepest shades to the lightest colours.

On the exterior surface of the walls, there is the text of Su Shi’s (Su Tung-po; 1037-1101) ode „Red Cliff” (赤壁).
