Dezső Bozóky hand-coloured glass diapositive. From Dezső Bozóky's Photographic Collection: Constantinople (İstanbul), Haydarpaşa quarter. The British-born Hungarian general took refuge in Turkey after the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. In the 1853–1856 Crimean War, he and György Kmety were responsible for the defence of the Castle of Kars, until it fell in 1855.
