Women's hip cloth (sarong) richly decorated (with geometric, floral and animal motifs) typical of the northern coast of Java (presumably by Chinese workmanship). The skirt head (kepala) is peach or pink with a small pattern on the base, on which a blossoming bush motif is accentuated, filling almost the entire field of the picture. The 'body' (badan) is cross-hatched, with a drapey dark blue ground, and the bulky pattern mentioned before. Birds and butterflies among flowering branches.
The textile is perforated in several places. From the collection of Ernő Zboray.
