A spectacular theatrical/opera scene in the colours of the evening can be seen in this painting, which also carries European influences (perspective, impressionistic elaboration). The main focus of the painting is the protagonist, dressed in ornate court costume and wearing a peacock's tail, posed in battle against his turbaned opponent. The scene is illuminated by the full moon in the upper right corner.
