Templom cloth painted on canvas with scenes from the Ramayana. Following the traditions of Javanese wayang imagery, the artwork created in the island of Bali, presumably in the village of Kamasan, depicts how Jatayu, the vulture, defends Sita (Indonesian: Sinta) and ultimately sacrifises himself for her, as she has been abducted by the trickery of Ravana, king of the demons. Consecutive scenes are separated by elaborately painted trees.
