Buddha sitting on a rectangular pedestal, with crown over the shoulders and high, pointed protuberance at the top of his head (Skt.: ushnisha). His costume is decorated with inlays, his right hand is held in the earth-touching gesture (Skt.: bhumisparsha mudra). The ornate diadem, ear strecher, and large crown are all distinctive features of this type’s iconography.
