This elaborate embroidered sleeve border was presumably part of a Peranakan (emigrant, assimilated) Chinese Indonesian so-called nyonya-baba (female-male) traditional costume. The field, edged with twisted gold cord, features the typical Chinese motif of two dragons playing with precious stones in the sky, each with a dazzling sun-disk next to their tails.
