The meaning of the word "sonsu" is reverence. The ceremonial vessel is an important part of the Japanese Shinto and Buddhist religion, used especially for praying to the gods. In the Japanese tea ceremony, the tea masters began to use a ceramic vessel similar to this one as a water holder. The concept of the work is based on the activity of prayer, expressed in a harmony of formal beauty and random changes.
