Dezső Bozóky hand-coloured glass diapositive. Photograph taken by Dezső Bozóky. Dezső Bozóky’s fellow officers walking towards to the Hall of Audience in Gyeongbok-gung Palace (“Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven”). When the photo was taken, the palace had been unoccupied for over a decade, because the monarch, Gojong, fled with his son in February 1896, and never returned. Signs of disrepair are visible everywhere: grass grows between the paving stones, the paper on the doors is torn in several places. The stone pillars on the left served to mark the positions of ministers during audiences.
