The Wongudan, the temple that housed the Altar of Heaven and Earth, viewed from outside the fence. Visible above the fence is the polygonal roof of the Altar of Heaven, the white marble balustrades around its circular terraces, and the multi-storeyed roof of the octagonal pavilion, the Hwanggungu, where sacrifices were offered.
