Tsongkhapa (tib. tsong kha pa; blo bzang grags pa)
The present image shows Tsongkhapa (tib. tsong kha pa; blo bzang grags pa) in monastic robe wearing the yellow hat of eniment Gelukpa monks. He seats in meditative posture on a lotus throne with Sun disc. His hands show the gesture of preaching; turned of the Wheel of the Dharma. Two lotus flowers are depicted above hi shoulders with a sword that illuminates the clouds of ignorance in the right and the Prajnyaparamita sutra, the Sutrasó of Transcendent Kwovledge in the left. These attributes remind to Manjusri boddhisattva whose Tsongkhapa is the embodiment. Tsongkhapa's two main disciple, (mKhas grub rje and rGyal tshab rje) read Buddhist texts on his two sides, and a female boddhisattva, Ushnishavijaya is represented in front of him.
