Dezső Bozóky hand-coloured glass diapositive. Photograph taken by Dezső Bozóky. Busan’s Korean district, with a view of the coast and the town’s north-western part. The track of the Seoul–Busan railway, opened in 1905, runs along the coastline. (Work on the railway, intended for military transport, began at both ends in 1901.) The view includes the yard of a peasant’s house, where large ceramic vessels and tubs of varying sizes stand. Clothes are hung on the fence to dry. A woman is walking away from the camera, with a tub on her head full of vegetables.
