Dezső Bozóky hand-coloured glass diapositive. Photograph taken by Dezső Bozóky. View of the city from the hills on its right. The view includes houses of the Japanese quarter, as well as thatched Korean homes at the foot of the hill. In the distance stand the hills that protect the
city. A Japanese man stands in the foreground, with a parasol. “The district spreading beneath our feet is already completely Japanese, with little left of the old Seoul, only a few small isles, here and there, of the thatched houses pressed close together” (Bozóky 1911, I. 511).
