Yatate (portable writing set) imitating a persimmon branch and fruit. Fine accessories of writing – brushes, paper, ink, and ink grinding stone – reflected deep respect of literacy. A smaller, portable writing set called yatate contained the ink and a brush and was worn in the sash. Unsigned.
