Study volumes related to our exhibitions

This volume of studies records the stage of research into Theosophy in Hungary which, with newly uncovered data and sources, an outline of the broader networks, and a more precise description of the beginnings and the early history, takes a new approach in presenting why Theosophy, out of all the movements of the era, attracted people from so many different segments of society at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The reader may rightly wonder how a museum specialising in Asiatic art came to deal with the occult practice of Theosophy.
