Furoshiki workshop with Anna Pápai-Vonderviszt
Furoshiki (風呂敷) are traditional Japanese wrapping cloths that has been used in Japan for centuries, mainly for gift wrapping and bag making. Lately, it has been enjoying a revival, along with the idea of environmental consciousness, as it can be reused as many times as needed and is not difficult to master the knotting technique. The Christmas gift-wrapping fever is perhaps a good opportunity to rethink our wrapping habits.
With the help of furoshiki designer and instructor Anna Pápai-Vonderviszt, participants can learn how to master this Japanese art in an environmentally friendly yet simple way. During the workshop, participants will wrap objects of different shapes and sizes, making Christmas wrapping at home a breeze. They will also learn some bag-making tricks that will be useful after the Christmas season. At the end of the workshop, you will also be able to purchase books on knotting techniques and textiles with different patterns.
