Commemorating the founder of Hopp Museum on his birthday anniversary
"Ferenc Hopp has also made important contributions to the development in Hungary, he became a renowned figure, similar to Jókai, he was well known all around in Pest" - noted Tibor Horváth, director of Hopp Museum after WWII, in his speech at the unveiling of the Ferenc Hopp memorial at the grave. This year, for the first time, on the anniversary of the founder's birthday, we invite all friends of Hopp Museum to an informal commemoration and celebration to remember together the man who was held in great respect by his contemporaries as well as the posterity, and who, in addition to his great deeds, was characterised by unparalleled kindness, friendlyness and sincere curiosity throughout his life.
Let's visit the tomb together, where everyone may recall a favourite episode from Hopp's adventurous life or the history of the collection he founded.
All welcome!
