Hatsugama chakai | Lecture and tasting
Followers of traditional Japanese art forms celebrate the start of the new year in their very own, sublime manner, and the Japanese art of tea is no exception. Hatsugama literally means 'first' (hatsu) 'cast iron teapot' (kama). According to tradition, hatsugama tea is brewed with water freshly drawn from a well, and accompanied by special types of sweets - depending on the school of tea.
10: 30 - 11:30: Urasenke tea master Kornélia Rajzó-Kontor introduces the traditions surrounding the New Year tea ceremony, its characteristics, as well as its theoretical background.
11:30 - 13:00: After the lecture there will be a chance to taste New Year tea and sweets. Visitors are required to buy a ticket (3000 HUF) for the tasting, and register using the link below.
Participants are required to purchase a daily pass for the exhibition. Discounts apply.
