Lecture by climber Szilárd Suhajda apropos of International Mountain Day

Title of the presentation:
Lhoce: on the border between dream and reality - alone at the top (Experiences and lessons of successfully reaching the summit on May 14, 2022)

In the spring of 2022, Szilárd successfully reached the fourth highest point on Earth, the 8,516 meter peak of Lhoce. After the success of K2 in 2019, he also climbed the second peak of his long-term project, The Big Five challenge, without the help of bottled oxygen or high-mountain porters. His goal is to reach the world's first five highest mountain peaks in the same way, by "clean climbing": his target for the following years will be to climb Mount Everest, Kanchendzönga and Makalu.

At the presentation, Szilárd also talks about his valuable experiences, lessons learned, success and failure, motivation, endurance and human feelings, in addition to the thrills he experienced between the peaks of the Karakoram and the Himalayas.
