Recalling memories | A centenary programme
The Ferenc Hopp Museum of Asian Art celebrates another centenary this year. The museum opened its doors in 1923 with its very first exhibition, as a result of the work carries out by Zoltán Felvinczi Takács, our first director. This year also marks the 190th anniversary of the birth of our founder, Ferenc Hopp, which creates a truly festive atmoshpere.
Both daughters of Zoltán Felvinczi Takács, Alice and Marianne, were musicians. The former a violinist, the latter a cellist. Marianne also worked as a staff member at Hopp Museum Archives from 1983 to 1998.
To mark this special anniversary, we are celebrating these outstanding people, so important in the history of the museum, with a pleasant, all-day garden programme.
