Musical journey to Japan | Matinée piano recital
Young Japanese pianists Tadaaki Hayasaka and Marika Murata perform a special programme of romantic, melodic and sometimes light-hearted works by Japanese composers, setting Japanese themes such as the cherry blossoms in spring, the sacred Mount Fuji and autumn rains to music. Both solo and four-hand pieces are performed. Both artists graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Arts and then continued their studies at the Academy of Music in Budapest.
PROGRAM:
Yamada Kōsçak: Nihonfū no Kagee (Japanese silhouettes)
Hisaishi Joe: Studio Ghibli Medley
Nakada Yoshinao: Nihon no Shiki (Four seasons of Japan - four pieces composed for four hands)
The performance is open to the public with a day ticket for the current exhibition at the Hopp Museum.
Tickets can be purchased online, in advance or at the Hopp Museum box office on the day of the programme.
