The Ferenc Hopp Museum of Asiatic Arts and the Hungarian-Indian Friendship Society are organising a conference on the occasion of the anniversary, with the support of the Embassy of India, as part of the "75 Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" programme series. Hungarian mountain climber Szilárd Suhajda climbed the 8516-meter Lhotse in Nepal on his first attempt without the help of supplementary oxygen and sherpas. He is the first and only Hungarian to do so to date. More ❯❯❯

The book, with an introductory study and notes, is the Hungarian translation of an old Northeast Chinese legend. The story is about a nomadic girl named Sirin. This little girl acquires miraculous abilities with the help of an ancient immortal, and then goes to war instead of her parents to defeat three bandit leaders who torment the tribes of the grassy steppes...

AYU UTAMI (1968–), an Indonesian author and civil rights activist awarded with numerous awards, was born in Bogor, grew up in Jakarta, and studied Russian literature and language at the University of Indonesia. With her first novel, she immediately rose to the forefront of domestic literature, the work prepared the way for an entire new generation of Indonesian feminist writers.
