A carved Balinese Garuda sculpture in the Art Deco style of the period, most notable for the sharp angle of the arms, the elongated fingers and the design of the pedestal. The artist has used meticulous carving to give a sense of the manbird's plumage and his costume, complete with jewellery typical of aristocrats and divine heroes. The left wing and beak are broken.
