Photographs of Dezső Bozóky – A Hungarian Naval Doctor in Vietnam at the Beginning of the 20th Century

On May 28, 2025, Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, and Luong Cuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, jointly opened the photo exhibition “Photographs of Dezső Bozóky – A Hungarian Naval Doctor in Vietnam at the Beginning of the 20^th Century”, held to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Vietnam.

The exhibition was organized by the Embassy of Hungary in Hanoi in cooperation with the Museum of Fine Arts - Ferenc Hopp Museum of Asian Art. The venue of the exhibition is the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel, which was originally opened as the Metropole Hotel in 1901, and thus matches the Bozóky photographs – here presented as digital copies of black and white photographs – in terms of age, theme and atmosphere. The exhibition and the opening ceremony were met with considerable interest from the Vietnamese press.
